It's likely all votes have seen small amounts of alt-voting, but this is evidence of massed alt-voting. Open in a new tab to enlarge fully: https://dto9r5vaiz7bu.cloudfront.net/qiqdhgf3f1v3r/source.png What are we looking at here? The chart's orange dotted line is the MPUV's vote advantage. The "vote day" row of the table shows the number of new accounts created over the course of the corresponding hour of voting. There are three significant anomalies on the table, highlighted in red. 2:00, 99 new accounts were created and the MPUV advantage jumped slightly. 16:00, 137 new accounts were created and the MPUV advantage dropped significantly. 17:00, 684 new accounts were created and the MPUV advantage plummeted. As seen on the other days of the table, the normal hourly account creation rate for the past week ranged from 30-90. Besides two of the highlighted hours, no other hour in the past week has seen more than 100 new accounts created. Conclusion The extremely abnormal rate of account creation during the last hour of the vote (7x greater than normal) combined with the corresponding abnormally rapid drop in the MPUV's advantage is best explained by massed creation of alt accounts used to vote in the showdown. Either of these abnormalities on their own would be extremely unlikely to happen independently of each other, but if driven by massed alt-voting they would both happen at the same time. Which is exactly what we've seen. We won't get stronger evidence of massed alt-voting without CIG comment. Fixing this problem going forward would seem to be as simple as blocking non-backers from voting. The MPUV advantage should roughly follow the shape of the MPUV's total vote curve. In normal voting, the more votes come in, the more the lead will increase. The large number of people voting at the start means the lead would be expected to increase more quickly at the start. It does rise faster than expected in an "ideal" situation, however the MPUV was a "meme" vote driven by active forum users. Active users are expected to vote early. Active users were more likely to vote MPUV. Therefore the early vote would have a greater pro-MPUV bias and we would expect an early peak for its advantage as seen on the chart. CIG already said there was no abnormal account creation. https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/pqovlr/warning_vote_manipulation_likely_happening/hdcn8wg/ Interesting fact: The final four hours of ARGO Cargo vs. Carrack voting, new accounts created were: 58, 77, 73, 138... These numbers are not abnormal. I admit defeat... the ARGO Cargo won Round 2. He read the wrong data. You can see he stopped an hour early. His numbers are from 13:00-16:00, so he didn't catch the last hour (17:00) where nearly 700 new accounts were created. It's also worth pointing out that his own 138 number which he says is "not abnormal" is abnormal, more than double the average hourly account creation for that time of day over the preceding week. It only had a 2% impact, that's hardly "massive". It would have only taken another 0.68% to flip the winner entirely. 2% is HUGE. This was enough alt voting to flip a few of the closest showdown votes.
