I want to bring up something that’s been bothering a lot of people: exclusivity has always been an important part of Star Citizen’s culture. Not out of ego, but because certain items carried history. When you saw someone with an old BIS paint, you knew that player had been around back when the game wasn’t even 10% of what it is today. It was a sign of experience, recognition, presence, and support for the project during its toughest phases. Those paints had meaning — they were an informal “insignia” within the community. And now?! They made available again all the BIS paints :man-facepalming: Just like that. All the symbolic value, all the recognition of those who had those skins because they were there… gone. I’m not even a hardcore collector myself, but I have friends who flew their 2950 Carrack BIS like they were carrying a piece of history. Now they feel simply erased. Their exclusivity was turned into just another random store item. In my case, I treated the Vanduul helmet as a trophy — something that for years was considered rare and special. But now it’s literally common trash. An item with no impact, no weight, no value. Something that used to be a symbol is now just another random helmet thrown into the inventory as if nothing ever mattered. The problem isn’t just about the BIS paints — it’s about devaluing items that were once presented as special, things players cared about because they marked their journey. Star Citizen has always been a game where identity MATTERS. Where personal history matters. Where showing certain items was part of your individual narrative. When CIG releases everything again and turns exclusive items into common gear, they’re not just selling cosmetics — they’re erasing memories and stripping meaning from those who’ve been here helping build this universe since the early days. It’s discouraging. And it’s a real shame to see this happening. EDIT: Thanks for the feedback — and based on it, I’d like to add the following: The F8 should have been tied to an achievement in Squadron 42. The F7A was originally announced as a strictly military ship, unavailable to civilians (to the point that the F7A Mk I upgrade was meant to be purely cosmetic, without any actual military-grade performance changes). Today I own both, and the F8 in particular is about to become extremely common, with buybacks flooded with them. What used to be a legend has turned into just another ship. I gave the BIS paints as an example, but that’s just the cherry on top of a steady process of "item commonization" that’s becoming more and more pronounced... EDIT2: Add a screenshot of Jared confirming that the 2950 items were limited and exclusive. Tnks @Dean_Ironstar
