Introducing a murderous grind for "endgame" gear necessary to do the "endgame" content to get the better gear for the next endgame content? Of course you'll say: just play the other stuff, but don't expect good rewards as you don't need them for what you're doing. Or do it with your org! I've been playing MMOs since UO, I know my straw man fallicy. This game is turning into a standard MMO with cash shop. Where is the living and breathing universe? Every player is a master crafter better than the real manufacturers? Check Best items are crafted from rare materials that only players can find? Check Power creep is the progression and applied to every item by being able to either craft a better version or upgrade the item? Check Endgame content is instanced, hand-crafted and requires specific gear? Check Quo vadis Star Citizen? I thought SC was supposed to be different, a sandbox, but we went full circle on all the mechanics and are going down the mainstream lane. Chris, are you still with us? Look, I'm not against progression, we already have that. But do we really have to introduce a grind to get to the content? Can we have "fun getting there" instead of "fun when we get there"? If not, can we just be honest and give items a tag and color depending on the qualitiy. Like common (white), uncommon (green), rare (blue), epic (purple) and legendary (yellow) for the 5 ship tiers. So I can destroy a noob in his new shiny ship with my legendary Aurora MKI in two hits to teach them a lesson? Give us item scores so we can proof we are worthy of the content we want to play! This whole item score thing will devide the playerbase even more (looking at you PvE vs. PvP) than it already is. Personally I don't think that is a good choice. Am I wrong? Is this the only way to make the game a success for the masses? Maybe login rewards could improve daily player counts? Can we at least get a nice group finder if we go full theme park?
