CIG talked at some point about not half-assing new content and then forgetting about it, but the reality is they keep half-assing it and forgetting about it; MasterModes is half-assed and despite multiple complains by all kinds of players, THEY ARE NOT WORKING ON IT RIGHT NOW until 4.0 is out. "New" MFDs are half-assed, the power management screen is horrible and despite being "new" it has A LOT of problems with power settings resetting or things changing and putting you at a negative output WITHOUT really telling you what is happening, some ships have unused screens for some reason, being unable to have multiple scanning MFDs set to different pages, etc. "New" MobiMap is half-assed, the looks is new but the underlying code is still the same bug ridden mess we have had for years now, the search function is unreliable, plotting may still give you a blocked route, and we still can't save locations. "New" Mobiglass is half-assed, not all the "apps" were updated, reputation app works at 5fps, NikNax is worthless, etc. "New" interaction system, it's horrible, the prompts are always in your face, the console game selection wheel is slow and unresponsive and we still can't select primary and secondary interactions yet, I had 0 complains about the old system, yet I have many complains about the new one. A lot of ships still don't have physicalized components. A lot of objects/items still can't be taken out thru the cargo elevator due to incorrect grid placement. ENDLESS amount of things that just outright don't work 99% of the time like refueling or Hull-C loading/unloading at stations. The current transit system is "usable" at best and the rework just got removed from 4.0. Is Pyro/4.0 also going to get half-assed too? is Pyro going to release with no missions? can't wait to grind bunkers in Pyro! And I'm probably missing plenty other stuff. So what happened with not half-assing new content? Is all of this already finished in 4.0? or 5.0? I'm getting tired of getting new stuff that just doesn't work for several patches or sometimes never works (Hull-C). Everything at CitCon was nice and cool but just like past CitCons, we are going to get only 50% of what was shown at best, and none of it is going to look or work as good as the presentations. I don't know about others but i wouldn't mind if CIG stopped developing new stuff after 4.X, implying engineering and everything else that is already being worked on is finished, and just spent a year updating ALL the old and unfinished stuff we have, I just want stuff to work, the wait would be a lot easier if what we had worked at all.
