Heavy fighters, ALL of them, are so useless. I will explain why, and also offer solutions. They die so fast Vs light fighters. They have marginally more shielding and armor but these are offset by their larger size and high signatures. They have more firepower, (often not by much) but suffer terribly in terms of speed. They die so fast Vs big ships. An AI PvE Exploration ship can take out a Heavy fighter with ease. I don't think it should. If I'm wrong, please tell me what type of ships they should be battling. (see the latest FoxyLoxy video or try it yourself in game. I had the same experience last night). They also struggle Vs medium freighters. Even a light 'fighting freighter' can out maneuver a heavy fighter while keeping parity in firepower. What is their intended role? I'm seriously asking because I'm not getting it. So far, all they're good for is talking on mid range combat missions Vs AI, which isn't great. A light can do that better. A medium can do that better. And if I need to group up to use these then I'll just use a better shielded multi crew ship or light fighters. What needs to happen: Recognize that they have a size disadvantage Vs light fighters Raise their speed & agility to be much closer to light fighters (increase medium ships accordingly as well) For example Vs the "Popular light fighter from SQ42", NAV MAX SPEED 1 230 m/s PITCH/YAW/ROLL 70 / 52 / 200 deg/s A Medium should be roughly 94% of this NAV MAX SPEED 1156 m/s PITCH/YAW/ROLL 66 / 49/ 188 deg/s A Heavy should be roughly 89% of this NAV MAX SPEED 1100 m/s PITCH/YAW/ROLL 62/ 46/ 178 deg/s As for HP, most need a boost from the 30-40k range up to 70-80k. Capacitors need a buff as well, 2-3 pips more per ship. They currently feel so anemic. Please make these changes and test in the PTU, then check metrics and collect feedback. Isn't that what the PTU is for? And note that I was fair and I didn't base myself off of interceptors, so the pro players will still have their high skill ceiling killing machines. (I intentionally avoided naming ships & tagged this post appropriately as a 'concern' so this stays in General where it belongs).
