We were sold on a universe with 90% NPCs and 10% players, a dynamic economy affected by said NPCs. We were sold on NPCs that had daily lives, personal traits, motivations, aspirations and would always exist in the world. We were sold on NPCs we could hire based on their traits and skills and "raise" them as we grow together in the game. We would have a dynamic economy and special events would be created by this interaction of NPCs and the economy itself. This was part of what 1.0 was supposed to be. You basically sold us the TV show Westworld but in space... but then Anthony Hopkins disappeared. And now people are supposed to go to an empty Westworld and move on. CIG, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If we are to move forward, you have to address this. If you don't want to talk about Anthony Hopkins, fine, but let's have an honest talk about whatever happened to his vision. We need this to move into the new vision of 1.0 together. EDIT: As people can get away with calling me dishonest in this thread, I just want to add a link here of the original NPC plan which included us being allowed to buy multiple packages (which a lot of us did) in order to own personalized NPCs. It seems to me this feature is an intrinsic part of what SC is (was?) supposed to be. Is CIG now telling us this is really becoming a "we will think about that later" feature? https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/13288-Multiple-Package-Clarification Finally, I think some housekeeping is in order so everyone can move forward. Clarification benefits everyone, not just CIG and not just us. I bought most of my packages back in 2013 based on what CIG told me about NPCs. If in 2024 the plan is really "we will think about that after release", I would like some confirmation.
