Every ship seems to have gimballed weapons of some kind. Some of them can be interchanged with fixed weapons, others are hardwired into the ship (i.e. Avenger). Almost all default loadouts feature mixed weapon systems, meaning fixed and gimballed weapons together. It's very clear to me at this point, that CIG wants players to fly with a) these mixed loadouts and b) gimballed weapons in general. I just don't see how a joystick fits into this picture. Gimballed weapons require pinpoint accuracy from the input device to be effective, joysticks are not designed for that. If I want to use a joystick and be efficient, will I be limited to certain ships that don't require or force gimballed weapons? Because right not, that seems to be the case. Therefore, I have to give up on my Avenger. I haven't heard about this issue in any ATV or other communication from CIG, so what's the plan? Will stick users receive a special control or gameplay mechanism to make sticks viable for gimballed loadouts? Or maybe I missed something and gimballed weapons are already working efficiently (= as useful as for mouse users) with sticks? edit I know this issue has been debated to death, but playing the PTU made me realize that my future ship pledges need to match my preferred way of playing. I just want transparency, do I need to differentiate between gimballed and non-gimballed ships or can I buy whatever concept suits me most?
