I love to do tailored pve activity. I love to do tailored pvp activity. I love to do emergent gameplay focused on pve, like mining and trading. I love to do emergent gameplay focused on pvp, like piracy. I love when pirates or grifier are so good, that are able to catch me, and even kill me. They are my content. But that's extremely rare. I love when i complete a succesful trading or mining run because i didn't give pirate the chance to find me. And that's extremely common. I love high risk, high reward loops. I love low risk, low reward loops. I love this kind of game design because it allow me to choose seamlessly what i can do, what i can be, at the risk and reward that i want. I'm glad CIG is going strong by this road since a long time now. I don't like people that want this changed because they don't like the game CIG is building. Despite all, i think people should respect the intention of the game developer. In fact, i would not be here if i wouldn't like to play what they are developing. Probably because generally, i don't play games that i don't like. On a side note: I think SC check lots of boxes in many of us, so much that many have developed their own fantasy about what the game should be, regardless what the intention of the game designer is. This is probably due to the very long development time, and the constant changes on plans, that could lead to confusion. It would be nice if CIG would clarify the final intent in a single place, (they have already clarify it many times, but in frammentated way) so to clear the dubts about how they envision the game to be played. Most of the conflicted discussion we may have here are generated by this sort of lack of precise and unequivocal communication. If they would say "that's the game we want, no further changes", then all the people that don't want that game should start to ask themself questions. Or start a petition to have it changed, idk.
