So I'm now watching all the chaos (especially with 3.18) from the sideline - as a spectator so to speak. I've unsubscribed from all the newsletters - no more lorem ipsum-like SQ42404 reports, the marketing guys can no longer bother me with FOMO mails (It's honestly a RELIEF, trust me) Do I miss anything now that I haven't logged in for a few weeks ? No. Not really. The "beautiful sunsets" and the eye candy just disctracted me from the pathetic state of the PU anyway so I don't give a fck about "beautiful sunsets" anymore. I've been following this project for almost 10 years now and I've learned three things: 1. Eye candy, cool ships, JPEG concepts, more JPEGs, devs talking about JPEGs, devs theory-crafting, community events, SCL, SQ404 reports - none of this really matters if CIG won't manage to deliver a decent game within a reasonable timeframe. That's not my opinion. That's a fact. 2. the PR guys as well as the devs are very good at keeping backers hyped and engaged - yeah...I get it, dear PR guys and devs: I am a donkey and all I want is the "pie-in-the-sky", respectively the CARROT that's dangling in front of my head. Well, tough luck ! My wallet is closed and it stays closed :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: 3. CIG invested 10 years and burned $500 million without officially releasing ONE decent game. Would you believe that ? Just imagine you're travelling 10 years back in time, you meet your "younger self" and you're telling him that 10 years later, after CIG burned $500 million there's still no decent game let alone SQ404. Let it sink in for a while. A while ago I just laughed at all the backers who were whining and complaining about the project. Now I'm laughing with them.
