Just want to see what people think or if someone can actually explain the difference here... As it seems there is no difference other than knowing it was another player that outdid you in someway... Unless people just want non-combat servers with no risk, for all the reward? I asked the subreddit first but have been banned lol, as I laughed at a Mod talking like a mafioso in a PM, very funny stuff. But no response in the post actually explained the difference, only upset over the opinion... So let's see what the spectrum gives in response. Example A, a player preps for their game session, gets their ship, plots their path and jumps, mid jump they are interdicted by a player Org and they are pirated, probably murdered while defending their ship or get away. They proceed to rail on open PVP and anyone who likes it in the game, like you pissed on their kids on Christmas day. Example B, a player preps for their game session, gets their ship, plots their path and jumps, mid jump they are interdicted by NPC raiders (Soontm) and they are pirated, probably murdered while defending their ship or get away. I don't see railing on those pesky Nine Tails or god mode accuracy the NPC have sometimes... Can anybody explain the difference, other than not being able to accept a loss to another player? basically their ego has been hurt. Disclaimer: This is not about griefing as defined by CIG or currently lacking systems to make it more punishing for serial criminals, simply this is for the people that state open PvP is the devil of all creations and the killer of all fun. Judging by reddit's response a lot of people will cry at me for the opinion, but who really cares... We can have a civilised discussion, can't we citizens. Edit - A shockingly low amount of people have actually even attempted to answer the question, which is in good faith. What is the difference if an NPC blows up your ship or a player, other than your ego not being able to handle losing to another player? To those on the roast hype... Keep that BBQ roaring... best so far is our latin brother himself, Agonist. Best roast. We also have JerryL, who believes saying someone has a fragile ego is insulting people with mental health issues... go figure... And not forgetting Don_Kanonji, who felt so passionate, so emotional about the subject, they spent their entire evening trying to roast. God bless you, Don_Kanonji... Definitely one of a kind. That BBQ is keeping me warm while I wait for someone to explain how their loss to a player it isn't related to a fragile ego.... - 5 hours and no one can provide a reasoning that is not ego driven, just lots of deflection or insults... I guess we have our results. Thank you to those who debated, and to those who attempted to insult... try harder next time, you sounded emotional. Long live Star Citizen and its open PVP vision, choice is the flavour of life.... We all in for a good time Citizens. Had a laugh, stay classy Citizens.
