Not going to write an essay, but I'm really put off by this community lately. I deliberately skipped checking this forum this morning and spent a couple of hours skipping through the full Day 1 video to watch key points that I was most interested in seeing: Genesis: Dr. Carol Marcus approved. Extraordinary work. Weather: Really above and beyond what I had ever expected. SQ42 prologue: Ignoring technical difficulties, this honestly had me on the edge of my seat. I love that they didn't put the rookie in a pilot seat, that we didn't single-handedly save the fleet without any formal training, that we got our ass kicked over and over and barely survived, traumatized. That's a great prologue, that's what a prologue is supposed to be. Afterwards, I came here to see wall-to-wall doom-spiraling and relentless negging on every single aspect of what was shown. This negativity has become so bad, so immediate, and so heavy-handedly carpet-bombed in delivery that it really does seem like there's an organized (discord) presence trying to subvert the overall sentiment here. Why waste your money and time like that? Criticize when criticism is warranted and praise when it's deserved, it's not hard. Check my history before calling me a kool-aid enthusiast. I still have faith in this project and that faith has been boosted by progress shown today. Anyone who Picards this post will develop an itch on their ass that won't go away for 9 hours.
