I’ve decided to cancel my ongoing subscription before taking a break from the game. If the game is ever seriously improved, maybe I’ll come back someday, but honestly, I doubt it. At this point, it feels like no one is really listening, or even cares. There is no clear explanation, no meaningful communication, and no sign that anyone in charge understands how many players feel. I’m tired of feeling like we are only seen as cash cows instead of loyal supporters of this project. On top of that, constantly hiding behind the “it’s still alpha” argument after all these years is no longer acceptable. At this point, the team should have gained enough experience with its own game, its systems, and its community to communicate clearly when things go wrong. If something happened because of a specific reason, then say so. If something was delayed because of another issue, explain it. But instead, there is silence, vague communication, missed promises, and decisions that make the project feel completely directionless and inconsistent. At some point, “it’s alpha” stops being an explanation and starts sounding like an excuse. Personally, I can no longer justify spending more money on ships or pledges until there is clearer communication and meaningful progress. That’s all from me. And before someone says, “You knew this was an alpha when you started playing,” yes, I know. Everyone knows. That is not the point. Accepting that a game is in alpha means accepting bugs, instability, wipes, broken features, and unfinished systems. It does not mean players should silently accept poor communication, missed commitments, vague explanations, or years of the same problems being brushed aside. “Alpha” can explain technical issues. It should not be used as a shield against accountability. Players can understand delays. Players can understand problems. What is harder to accept is the lack of clear communication, the lack of consistency, and the feeling that concerns are only acknowledged when money is involved. Supporting an alpha does not mean giving up the right to criticize it. Take care of yourselves, everyone.
