I’ve got to be honest, the Idris in its current state is straight-up ridiculous. One dude in a $2000 ship should not be able to stroll in, laugh at 10+ people shooting at him, and soak damage for over an hour like a goddamn raid boss. That’s not fun, that’s not balance—it’s just one giant, boring bullet sponge. And what makes it sting even worse? CIG took away dumbfire torps from the Polaris. That was skill. You had to line up shots, predict movement, and actually land them. It felt good, it rewarded coordination, and it gave groups a way to actually deal with capitals. Instead, it really feels like you nerfed the $1000 ship just to sell the $2000 one. Whether that was the intent or not, that’s exactly how it looks to players. Capital ships should feel scary and strong, but there needs to be a counter. Right now, the Idris is basically a “pay-to-win” tank that eats up everyone’s time and makes fights miserable. Nobody is walking away from that kind of fight thinking, “Wow, that was epic.” They’re walking away thinking, “Well, that was a waste of an hour.” Please either bring back dumbfire torps for the Polaris or tone down the Idris’s ridiculous tankiness. Star Citizen should reward teamwork and skill, not make us feel like idiots beating on an immortal wallet warrior.
