Seriously. I'd like to know. because it feels like a really over-delayed april fools joke. The combat is so much worse in this patch. The ships that I used to enjoy flying are now just about useless, and everything is a dog fight. EVERYTHING. Not to mention trading STILL hasn't been fixed, the issues concerning my account STILL haven't been addressed (after 5 months of pleading) and we are now being forced to deal with ridiculous ammo shortages with ballistics that barely do any more damage than before, and pseudo ammo on lasers? Wtf? Seriously this is insane. 1 - Everything is a dogfight. Why are we being forced to dogfight? Especially when missile operator mode is making its debut? That's like when the C2 was released and I thought trading would actually be fixed. Literally, everything is now a dogfight, regardless of whether you personally like sniping with larger weapons from further away , or employing a variety of tactics to support your friends as THEY dogfight enemies. Why am I even allowed to have missiles on board that have a 7km range if I can't even SEE my enemy until 2-3 km away, and by the time I lock on to them, thy are circle strafing me and I can't manage to maneuver to save my own ass? As if that's not bad enough, once I CAN eventually get a couple lucky shots off, they glance off the enemy like nothing happened and within seconds I am out of ammo. Now I need to use my missiles, but wait, I can't - because I can't get far enough away from the enemy to do it, and I'm out of ammo so I can't dogfight them even though that's not even what I wanted to do in the beginning. 2 - Trading is still a ridiculous mess in 3.14. Why would you release these big ass ships and get people excited for trading and then just not fix it? It's not like it was non-existent. It EXISTED and was then crippled, never to be fixed again. Why limit people to what they can do? If someone pays $400 for a ship and has the time to go at it alone, going from planet to planet buying and selling and doing that for 12 hours, taking the risks to 30ks and pirates, why not let them do that? Why cripple their entire reason for playing the game? Not everyone wants to fight, and people buy different ships for different reasons. It blows my mind that since 3.11 we STILL don't have proper trading. Again, it's not like it didn't exist. It DID, then it was gimped, just like combat was. 3 - Ammo for both ballistic AND laser weapons is a joke. I literally spend 5 seconds firing my gattlings to take out ONE ship, which takes up 75% of my ammo. Wtf? And I don't even have an option to use missiles, because I can't SEE the target unless it's right in front of me - at the point where missiles become effectively useless. Why punish solo players and let them get so frustrated they want to quit? I've been pledging since 2014 and this is honestly one of the worst changes I have seen to date. There is so much other good stuff happening elsewhere, but it seems like player choice has fallen by the wayside and is no longer a thing. GIVE PEOPLE THE CHOICE TO DO WHAT THEY WANT. That's what this game is all about, and what it should continue to be. I get pissed off when CIG just switches their attention to something they want tested, and basically gimp the shit out of everything else. Why are people being forced to do something they don't want to do by means of basically gimping those things and making only ONE thing profitable, enjoyable or just have only one thing WORKING? I don't get this approach. I've spent 8 grand helping to develop this game - and it seems like my experience is only getting worse. The support is also inadequate to the point of me wanting to give up on this whole game and focus my attention elsewhere. I work tirelessly to run a community and produce content to help people, I promote the game and have basically become an ambassador for it. Yet I feel like I am not being heard. And that other people with similar concerns are not being heard either. I want things to change. This can't keep up - because I, and many other people will eventually find something else to support. I want this game to succeed but this lolliggaging and dicking around needs to stop. Player choice needs to be at the forefront of this whole project. People need to be allowed to do what they enjoy, so they don't feel like they are paying CIG to test their own game, which effectively is what is happening anyway. The support needs to be attentive and actually support the community, instead of giving copy and paste replies about how they are "working" on it, when there are massive issues preventing people from playing the game. Seriously. There needs to be change. EDIT: I appreciate all of your replies. Admittedly I was really frustrated when I wrote this, but I also really love the game and like an old school parent, just want it to succeed. That being said, player choice is an important and necessary addition to any game that is as open as this. And not just because it makes people happy to play a game that they like, but for less obvious reasons, like that it allows people with a disability, like me (being legally blind) to play the game in a way that is accessible and fun. My concerns are that this is not the first time that we have had features torn from the game without any type of accountability or explanation. And before you reply to someone with similar concerns to mine with "git gud scrub", consider that there may be other reasons that they are expressing frustration than what may initially seem to be obvious. I pour my heart out for this game. I stream it, I promote it, I champion it and create content and a community to help people with it. It is because I care that I am angry. And that doesn't mean that I don't recognize the hard work that is being put in to make it a reality. But MY reality is that this game has just become unplayable for me, because I can no longer do the things that my body allows me to do, nor that I find fun, exciting and challenging.
