It took Bethesda 8 years to develop Starfield from a blank page into a released game. Let's see what CIG completed in 11 years with Star Citizen, for comparison. They developed initial iteration of several basic game systems. Basic model to fly the ship from A to B, rudimentary mining and salvage, very basic medical gameplay, 50 copy-pasted outposts and bunkers where you can try initial iteration of enemy AI and FPS, and several others. Then they compiled these initial implementations together into a buggy development build, just more or less stable to allow people to try it. This is not an opinion or a point of view, it's facts. One would think that in 11 years a team of dozens, then hundreds, then 1000+ employees is enough to finalize at least a single game system. Not finalize an entire game, not a part of a game, just one single game mechanic. Nope, not enough for CIG. Probably they need another 11 years and another 1000+ employyes to do that. As I said, just a random thought.
