Lets be done with it, it is clearly very difficult to grasp the concept of open PvP for some people. Lets be done with it, give people PvE servers so Spectrum and global chat are free of these incredibly silly, PvE vs PvP threads. It apparently does not matter how much CIG says explicitly or implicitly to "suck it up buttercup", every single event ever causes a swathe of these threads to come up, always with the exact same conclusion of things carrying on exactly as they were, the game is still open PvP, the TOS doesn't change, CIG doesn't ban anyone or put any of the controlls they easily could to prevent the sort of gameplay a certian subset of players abhores, or they even make it easier or encourage this kind of gameplay (which is ignored by said subset of players) and spectrum and global are a little nicer, right up until the next event. Please lets just give players the option to make accounts either with PvP enabled or not and lets just be done with these god awful threads. Saying this as a PvP guy. I also think if CIG isnt going to do this - they could be a little more forthcoming about the nature of the game, maybe something on the home page or after you hit "play now" so that anyone looking at buying the game or playing for the first time isn't confused about when or how they can be attacked etc, and no one downloads the game with the wrong idea.
