There was recent mention of the Starfarer going to have an even tougher time to leave atmosphere. This makes no sense. First and foremost it simply is not fun. Does CIG want us to give up on this game after our tenth 30-45 minute atmospheric exit? The hardcore sim junkies will tell my I'm wrong, but what about the average player? And looking down the line, what does this mean for the Hercules, a ship the size of the Starfarer but meant to transport vehicles to the surface of planets? I can abandon the idea of taking a Starfarer planetside as it is mainly used for fuel harvesting (but IMO this is such a damn waste of a versatile ship) but what about the Hercules? Imagine a two hour ordeal simply transporting a Nova tank from the surface of one planet to the other. How will this be profitable (forget fun at this point)? There are so many arguments that can be made in a game where these are far from being the largest ships. CIG needs to remember that if people aren't having fun, the user base will be extremely small and so will profits, and this is bad for everyone.
