Took a new guy out in Star Citizen today. Figured I’d show him some of the best the game has to offer—grabbed a mission to clear a storehouse on Hurston, and we rolled out in my Reclaimer. On the way, we lucked out and found an abandoned Polaris just floating out there. Jackpot. We salvaged it clean and walked away with a full hold of RMC and construction materials. He was impressed. We were having a blast. Then we hit the mission. No issues. Cleared all the enemies, no deaths, no looting, no nonsense. We were just making our way out. And here's where it all falls apart: With 28 minutes still showing on the trespass timer, it suddenly flips to "You are trespassing." We didn’t shoot. We didn’t loot. We were literally just jogging from the storehouse to the exit. We step onto my Reclaimer, and the turrets instantly light us up. No warning. No grace. Just gone. Two hours of gameplay erased in seconds over a bug that’s been around for too long. And just like that, the tone shifted. My new recruit looked at me and said, “Nah, eff this game.” And honestly? I couldn’t argue. I love Star Citizen, but that’s a hard sell for a new player who just saw two hours of fun end in a senseless, avoidable glitch. This wasn’t a server crash. This wasn’t a combat mistake. This was basic mission logic breaking in the final moments of a successful run. And it cost us everything. These kinds of issues have to be addressed. If the goal is to attract and retain new players, then core systems like trespass timers, turret logic, and mission states have to work reliably. Stuff like this shouldn't still be a thing. Just venting, but also hoping this post helps shine a light on how much these bugs cost the game… not just in time, but in players.
