Many of you who frequent spectrum will probably remember my post suggesting that if 30k disconnects are such an issue there should be reduced claim timers, not increased. It seemed most in the community agreed but there was definitely a contingent of people who seemed to think that it was absurd for me to even expect any kind of stability out of the experience let alone a simple reasonable improvement to the player experience. Others suggested I refund while I can. I didn't take that suggestion too seriously at first because I thought there must be some light at the end of this tunnel but I'm still not seeing it. The next days after that I continued having 30k disconnects (although much less frequently in the days following) but the thing that did me in was a completely separate bug incident. I was in CRU-1 putting in my refinery order, come out to request a ship, sat there for nearly a minute and nothing happened. I backed out of the terminal and selected a different ship, nothing. Go to the hangar elevators, nothing happens. I put something in chat about it and immediately have players blaming me for causing the issue and trapping other players in the space station. Further I should have read the issue council to know about the bug and the suggested work around for it so that I don't cause it. I was then of course reminded that I should expect the game to have issues and that I'm not allowed to be frustrated. And finally I was then called a "free-flyer" as some sort of pejorative despite owning the pisces and cutter. I'm out. The combination of game breaking bugs and vitriol in response for frustration with game breaking bugs is mind-blowing. I can count on one hand how many fully released games I've bought in the past few years; every new game I get seems to be in early access, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a pre-release game build. That paired with the negative members of the community put me over the edge. My reasons for making this post are exclusively to vent and also to give some feedback to a company that seems to want to attract new players with all sorts of new player experience improvements but fails to keep even me, a person with thousands of dollars invested into flight simulator equipment, thousands of hours flying virtual aircraft, and someone who loves to support studios breaking the mold to create innovative new titles. Edit: also adding that my ships are on their way to be refunded already.
