Hi CIG, I just wanted to bring up something that’s been bothering me with the new insurance update and the new break system, where claimed ships and removed components stop being useful after a short time and basically break. I understand why this was done, especially with duping and how badly that can mess up the economy, but I feel like this change really hurts piracy gameplay. Before, if I destroyed or boarded another player’s ship and managed to take a good Grade A military component, that felt like a real reward for taking the risk. Now, if the component is just going to break and I have to bring materials back to a fabricator to craft the same thing again, it takes away a big part of why piracy even matters. At that point it doesn’t really feel like stealing anymore, it feels like extra steps to craft something I already fought for. I’m not saying duping should be ignored, and I get that balance is important, but piracy needs to have real value too. If players can’t properly loot useful components from ships, then piracy starts feeling pointless, and the game leans more into normal PvE instead of the open sandbox it’s supposed to be. Same thing with salvaging and looting ships under this new golden standard system, does it even make sense anymore if the best parts you pull are just going to become useless? I just hope there can be a better middle ground where duping is controlled, but pirates and salvagers can still take and use valuable components from other ships. Because without that, a whole playstyle feels like it’s being weakened hard. Thank you for reading. +
