“Better get this stuff done by end of March or you missed out!” I'm sorry, but this FOMO tactic to artificially boost player numbers is frankly repulsive. Especially for a game that is still very much an unstable alpha state. This is the sort of tactic you see in Mobile games, where they constantly try to have you log-in to get rewards you might never get again. No! CIG! NO! I can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty sure a lot of SC players DO NOT want this. To be clear, these rewards and giving them by playing the game? Really cool! That's not the issue. But that entire "Better get it done this month or it's gone... FOREVER!" part? Get this crap out of this game! I'm glad that the dislike bar and the comments on this youtube video shows just how disconnected you guys are on this one. This sucks! If you can't get your players to engage with your game without such slimy methods, then you don't deserve high player numbers. Want players to play? Make the game fun and rewarding to play in general with the CORE game experience. Not these BS limited time events. Also, about the "narrative" aspect of these events. It is absolutely hilarious that you literally have to explain in the video what the hell is going on with these factions or no one would know. I think that says all that has to be said about the so called "narrative" aspect of these mission. No offense to the lovely dev that spoke about the data pads that explain all this... But are you serious? For a game with so much funding, this is as "low hanging" fruit as it gets. Can you really not make a few named characters and give them a couple of voice lines? MMOs that are TWO DECADES old did this. And with much less budget. No, I don't think we're asking for much here. Frankly the only good aspect of this video is the new mission sharing changes to encourage group play and the Industrial missions (Nice for salvagers, and Miners, but Haulers will still be forced to PvP as usual). I hope, REALLY hope that the mission content planned for 4.1 stears away from these "narrative missions" as we have them now. Because this ain't it!
