Among my circle of SC friends that I play with regularly, it seems none of us really care about SQ42. We bought this game and continue to fund it for the PU-only. Likely we will only play through SQ42 if it ends up being a truly exceptional game (remains to be seen) or if there is a meta ship attached to completing SQ42, like the F8C was originally meant to be. One has to also wonder how many new copies of SQ42 CIG will manage to sell given how so many backers already own the game. The most “easily acquired“ PC gamers are already here. Moving forward, CIG will need to spend more resources to continue acquiring more PC gamers and reach those who have not heard of the game yet or previously did not want to give it a chance (SQ42 may end up thriving on consoles however, as consoles present an entirely new market for CIG to target). My friends and I all feel a sense of CIG is taking resources generated by the PU and using those resources on a game none of us really care about. We sometimes think both CIG and its customers would be a lot happier if CIG just diverted its efforts into the PU. Squadron 42 seems to be creating a lot of friction for everyone, many of us do not care of it, and no one really knows if it’s going to succeed. I’ll end by saying that we really hope there is no second chapter to SQ42 and that CIG uses only the PU as the next chapter. Wondering how the rest of you feel about this. Do you have any interest in SQ42 or do you wish that CIG prioritized the PU instead? edit: Good to see a healthy and diverse set of opinions here. Thanks for participating whether you agree or disagree
