Did you really think it was going to last forever? We could lock in sale prices on infinite layway for essentially no money once one had some store credit built up. It was a neat little loophole, but I can't think of another business in the world that operates like that. Would a movie theater let you refund your ticket and endlessly re-apply it to watch as many movies as you wanted? No. Can you buy a game on the steam summer sale, play it, refund it, and then buy it again months or years later for that same sale price? No. Now I'm not going to sing CIGs praises for how incredibly generous they are - They're not. They're in the business of making money. But, to their credit, they have a no-questions-asked refund system for store credit, that you can use as much and as often as you like, and it's not like that's going anywhere. They're just removing the ability to sit on a discount for a "product" you refunded for years. It's a business acting exactly like you'd expect it to - closing a loophole so they can make money.
