edit: Coming back after 5 month to see what has happened. I took advices to pause SC and now come back to check if things got better. And they did! We have a sorted member list in the Mobiglas. What a relieve! And oh yes - the C8 skin issue is going to be resolved, but it's just not finished yet. Other than that nothing changed. I'm still in the - I take a step back to wait and see - state. Like many others I know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ o7 CIG Following the developement since pretty much the beginning I went through ups and down with you, never losing my faith. The only constant in life is change and so my faith begins to fade. I might miss something though and this is why I write this Letter to you. Deeply hoping that my faith comes back. CIG & citizen - please keep in mind that these are my thoughts and my POV. No need to rage but you are welcome to change my mind. Yes, I know many of you (developers) are working hard on SQ42. But since there is no real update at where we are with this spin-off, things are getting weird. there are these small things which are incomprehensible. At least for me but I'm not a developer by any means. So let's start. UI features: Since the building block upgrade we have no UI update by any means. Little things like sort the server member list or add a search field for server mamber cannot be that hard to implement. Am I really the first one to think about that? Even if the UI gets an complete overhaul, these little addon would really make our life in the verse easier. Adding this to the current UI cannot be that time consuming. Concept Ships: There are some ships you want to spare for SQ42 and I totally understand this. What concerns me is the huge backlog of ships in general. This came up with the latest Videos where it was stated that the developement of a big ship takes a year or longer. Contributors picked this up and said that it would take several decades in developement-time to bring this ships to live. How do you want to manage this? I mean look at the current ship state. There are 'variant's' of ships that are actually just skins. There are skins which do not fit on the same chassis (BIS - Herc, C8R). We have modular ships ingame but modularity is far away. Speaking of modularity - why is the Galaxy 'naked'? Other modular ships like the Caterpillar come with the Transport Module stock. Why not the Galaxy? Other ships do not come to PU because there is no gameplay yet. Where is the gameplay for the Carrack? Exploration, Drones, NPC crew do all not exist yet. But the ship is ingame fylable (and has transport modules). Ships with (T0) gemaplay seem to be forgotten. Why is the Apollo not flight ready? We have the gameplay. We can use Medbeds. And even if we cannot change the Medbed Tier for now - bring it, there is no reason to hold it back. Jump Point: So marketing is busy doing other stuff and they don't want the quality to suffer? That's the reason why it is now bi-monthly without any compensation to subscribers? Information about ship features are not available, outdated or simply not correct. Are the Webdesigners/Marketing or whoever foster the website, working on SQ42 too? (Sorry - don't meant to get rude) Concierge Community Manager: They come, yell and are gone. Not really very much happening there. Not that we really need to be cuddled all the time. But this was your idea and your offer. You, CIG, baited me with the benefits of being Concierge so I spent more and more money. What's left over? Last CM had some interesting ideas and we were involved. At least if felt that way. Some 'perks' were introduced and the rest was really fast forgotten. Void. Overall picture: Looks like CIG more and more lacks in processes and internal communication. Why do we have a discussion about a ships hangar size, modularity or skins? These are thing which must be fleshed out before an announcement (of a new ship). One says all Pisces variants get the BIS skin. After that the C8R was released which cannot fit the BIS skin. A tiny example for a total lack of understanding (from the backers), communication and processes in the company. What's the issue? Did you grow too fast? Something else? CIG - I'm drifting away but don't want to. Save me! All in all the community contributors did a great job in disturbing my concerns. Big 'thank you' for that!
