"Hey everyone, Shubin Interstellar would like to remind you that the QV Breaker Stations in the Nyx system are "technically" operational. Just temporarily... unpowered. And possibly structurally compromised. Fully vacated by original personnel. Maybe." Scattered across the Keeger Belt, QV Breaker Stations once formed the backbone of asteroid mining operations in the region. Key infrastructure. Serious machinery. The kind of facilities that were never meant to go quiet... until one day they did. A few of them still look exactly as they were left. That was over three hundred years ago. Long enough for things to get complicated. They're still out there; your contract board will take you to one. What's waiting inside is yours to discover. We've put together answers to some of your common questions about Operation Breaker Stations below. Operation Breaker Stations – FAQ ▲ What is Operation Breaker Stations? Operation Breaker Stations is a new repeatable PvE-focused activity arriving with Alpha 4.7: Welcome to the Rock. You'll be exploring derelict asteroid mining facilities in the Keeger Belt, finding your way through caverns, restoring power to a dead station, and ultimately firing an absolutely massive laser at a rock. You know. Normal Tuesday stuff. ▲ How do I find a QV Breaker Station? Don't bother checking the Starmap, these locations won't appear there. The only way in is through a contract. Accept a QV Breaker Station Mining Rights contract in your mobiGlas. These contracts are available through Shubin Interstellar and can be purchased for aUEC, but you'll need to build some rep with them first. Shared Rights contracts unlock at Rep 1, Exclusive Rights at Rep 2. Do some mining, earn their trust, and the contracts will follow. No rep, no contract, no station. ▲ Can I replay this? Yes! Repurchase your Mining Rights from Shubin Interstellar for aUEC and go again as many times as you like. ▲ What types of Mining Rights contracts are there? Two flavors: Shared Rights – Other players may be working the same site. Whether that turns into cooperation or chaos is entirely up to you lot. Requires Rep 1 with Shubin Interstellar. Exclusive Rights – The station is yours alone. Quiet. Unpowered and seemingly derelict, and no witnesses other players. Requires Rep 2 with Shubin Interstellar. Note: Shared Mining Rights contracts are available from Levski and each People's Service Station across Nyx. There's plenty to go around, though some stations will be busier than others. If you're after a quieter run at a QV Breaker Station, it might be worth travelling a little further afield to pick up your contract. ▲ Is this a solo or group activity? Operation Breaker Stations is designed for groups of 4-6 players, though smaller crews and solo runs are possible. PvP is not the focus with this activity, though we can't speak for the general lawlessness of the 'verse. That is why there are two options (Exclusive or Shared Rights) to suit your preferred playstyle. ▲ What rewards can I expect? A mix of FPS-lootable items and ship-mineable resources of varying rarities, dependent on how deep you go into the cracked asteroid. Complete the mission contract, and you'll also walk away with a blueprint — guaranteed, until you've collected them all. ▲What do I need? Helmet (Never leave home without it.) FPS mining tool (This is super handy to have, trust us on this.) Tractor beam tool (Seriously, don't forget this.) Combat loadout (You know, just in case.) Medpens or Med Guns (Nice to have even though it's perfectly safe in there. Allegedly.) A nimble mining ship (You came to crack rocks. Don't leave empty-handed.) ▲ How do I get around in a QV Breaker Station? Besides your trusty two feet? Two transit systems exist within the facility. The Ring Shuttle connects the main facility areas and is your primary way of getting around the station. The Autonomous Monorail Transport runs between the Laser Head room and the Warehouse. ▲ Walk me through what actually happens inside. Glad you asked. Here's a short field guide: EVA In — The station's dead on arrival. Land on one of the two landing pads under the Laser Head and EVA through the Maintenance Entrance airlock. There's more than one way to navigate the facility once you're inside. Explore the Location — Hunt down various components scattered throughout the facility. You might meet some unfriendly locals along the way. Physical challenges, puzzles, hazards, loot. The works. Restore Power — Install missing components to the power bank in the Central Core to restore auxiliary power to the facility. Try to stay alive while doing it. Power Trip — Head outside via the airlock, call the Ring Shuttle, and ride it to the Operations Center. Do what you need to do to restore functionality to the facility. The Lights Are On. Now What? — Take the Autonomous Monorail Transport to the Warehouse to explore and find anything that can help you set up the laser. Heads up, you might have company along the way. Fire the Laser — Hit the button in the Laser Head Control Room. Watch the show. We're not saying it's the most powerful laser in the 'verse. We're just not saying it isn't. Mine the Asteroid — Navigate into the cracked asteroid and collect your rewards from within: ship-mineable resources of varying rarity. This is why you came. ▲ Is there anything optional I can do to improve my results? Yes. Once operational power is restored, you can pursue additional steps to supercharge the laser before firing. How you do this is up to you to find out. More effort in, better results out. ▲ What's a Sadaryx crystal? A resource found within the caverns that can be mined and used to craft laser lenses. Useful. Pretty. Definitely worth grabbing. ▲ Any last tips? • Explore properly – There might be components you'll need or loot you'll want along the way. • Bring some friends – A group of people with different expertise can help everyone get the most out of each run. • Do the optional steps – Maybe the simplest route is not always the most rewarding. • Bring cargo space – There's always something else you'd want to bring home. ▲ Is there more to do at QV Breaker Stations? At launch, QV Breaker Stations are accessed through the Mining Rights contracts. In the future, these derelict facilities will be home to other activities, bringing more freeform ways to engage.
