I am an older gamer, that fell in love with books like the Lensman series, Asimov and Jack Vance (I still have around 1000 SF books in my library :slightly_smiling_face: ). When the space games like Freelancer, Wing commander and Privateer came available I was behind the PC for months on a row. Solo playing, in my own ship, slowly upgrading to better ships and equipment was totally my thing. After those games I waited long time for new and better releases, but never found them. Work and life came in between playing and only since 2014 I noticed the upcoming of the new Chris Robert game StarCitizen. In 2016 I signed up and started to invest. Not only in ships, but also put a lot of $ into upgrading the PC and equipment. Better Hotas, mechanical keyboard, mouse Ram, graphic card, everything to be able to play SC on a good level. In total about $3000 on the PC and $600 on ships over the last 2 years, to be ready for this adventure. Strange thing is, I notice lately, that I am totally losing interest in SC. Why? I am still impressed by the progress CIG makes (thou they could learn to communicated better J ) The graphics are awesome, the goal and the dream that CR is chasing deserves nothing more than my respect, I like the community, . . . . . so what’s wrong? It is me. Thou I am an org member, probably one of the most friendly and funny orgs there is, I still am the same solo player I always was. My dream was, to fly in my SOLO ship, build for the SOLO player, be able to slowly upgrade to a better SOLO ship. I bought a Cyclone to take with me and discover planets, moons, and asteroids. Fly my ship over, unload the Cyclone and explore. I bought some Explorer ships that could hold a Cyclone, like the Aquila, but melted them all. I could fly them single, but those are no solo ships. I totally dislike the huge multi crew ships with manned turrets and all the empty beds. 100% not build with solo players in mind. I think, this is why I am losing interest in SC. I haven’t been in the PU since last half year coarse there is no ship build for the solo player that I am. Only the small starter ships that never will be able to take a Cyclone. And I have the bad feeling, that CIG will never build ships where solo players can upgrade to. So, I have zero indication that CIG will ever start building something that brings back the old “Privateer / Freelancer feeling, a game for the solo pilots under us, I think that my investment in SC will be a write-off. But as I said, that is only me, not to blame SC, just me. Wrong expectations.
