Patch 4.1.1 arrives, yet the long-promised flyable Idris remains absent for its original, high-paying backers. Despite the ship being actively used as a stealable asset in in-game missions, seemingly in a polished state, those who directly funded the creation of Star Citizen and the Idris itself, still can't access the ship normally. This situation feels increasingly illogical. While the ship is featured in in-game missions, allowing players to experience it through intended mechanics or elaborate workarounds to gain unauthorized access, this often disrupts the intended mission flow. Ironically, withholding the Idris incentivizes these potentially disruptive player-driven access methods. The positive aspect of its current implementation in 4.1.1 is that it appears less prone to breaking mission content, though higher player loads will ultimately reveal the full impact once it moves out of phase 1. In short, it's time to release the Idris to its backers. Doing so would not only fulfill a long-standing promise but also disincentivize the community from constantly finding ways to break game mechanics to access a ship they should for all intents and purposes already have access to.
