Square Enix and Blizzard, the companies that run the two biggest MMOs on the market, both do this every year. What is happening is this: There is going to be an event (Citizencon, or in SE's case it is called Fan Festival... I think Blizzard's is "Blizcon" or something like that). If you want to attend the event, you have to buy a ticket. However, for those people who are too far away to attend (or too costly, whatever reason), they offer DIGITAL LIVE access to the event. "Live" is the key term here. What you're paying for is for live, streaming video during the event. That does not mean that people that don't pay won't be able to see the videos of the event. This the extremely important thing that many of you seem to be misunderstanding. The videos from Citizencon are NOT locked behind a paywall. They will be posted, just like they are every year. SE and Blizzard do it too. It's just not posted for several days/a week or two later. TL;DR 1) This is very normal and commonplace. 2) You aren't missing anything if you don't pay... you just don't get to see it LIVE as it is happening.
