Instancing has been the tried and tested solution in AAA MMOs that solves these two issues: 1) Networking and net code related problems. If you ever wondered why AC runs so well compared to the PU, it's because you disconnect from the hundreds of players and do not have to simulate the entire surrounding world. To make things worse, the PU has unprecedented scope and scale in the MMO genre and so it suffers from these typical MMO issues an order of magnitude more than any other MMO in the history. Hate to say it, but CR's vision may be impossible to implement with the current software and hardware. 2) Griefers trying to ram PvE players and other similar "enjoyable" things. If you've never tried the marvel of say instanced PvE dungeons in Elder Scrolls Online, you won't understand. It's a fully working concept, which can and will work in the PU as well, solving the above two problems in a smart and effective way. But I understand that if you're a griefer, you have no choice but to attempt to call instancing "outdated" and "flawed" etc. Well, yes, we know.
