I'll try to keep this short... So here I am again, talking once more about Master Modes, funding, and our "citizens." October isn't even over, yet it seems like we’re already "going backwards" on funding. There’s funding that might still be saved at the IAE (I hope), but I feel this signals a lack of interest in the game. We're seeing so many "Live" (PU) builds riddled with game-breaking bugs, like the new "hangar lock," persistent server issues, and, on top of that, a shift toward a new "vision" that seems geared toward console "ports." This includes changes like the oversized UI—such as the new inventory interaction and less functional but more visible MFDs—which feel designed to be seen from across a room. And then there’s the disastrous implementation of Master Modes, with mode switching all the time, which has caused many players to either stop playing or lose interest, seeing the game increasingly as just "another upcoming console game." CitCon generated some hype, but the near-cancellation of the building module for the Galaxy stirred (brief but justified) drama within the active community. And the relentless “balancing” aimed at sales is another blow. For example, the tractor beam on the ATLS, the Redeemer nerf right before the release of a new ship... and the list goes on. These are just a few examples. So I have to ask: What is CIG doing?! Are they trying to kill their own project? Trying to bring in "new blood" at the expense of the "old blood"? I can only attribute the lack of growth in funding to this "new vision" for the game that’s been unfolding since the beginning of the year (with Master Modes and all the changes that followed). This is PRE-IAE... and i hope im wrong at the end of the year.
