There, I said it. After following the project for some time I decided to back the project in 2018 and played regularly for quite some time. Back then, some of the major talking points were features that were planned and just around the corner, like ship armor & damage model, server meshing, AI crew & blades, broken star map rehaul, constant flight model changes, duplicated ships, shield holes, elevators not working, bugged trains, waiting for another star system, low FPS, night vision, invisible planet markers on bright surface, too much bloom & some other QoL features and of course 30k's. But it was ok, since we all believed that in about 2 or 3 years, all these things should be a thing of the past. Now, 5 years later nearly ALL of these problems are STILL HERE!!! Of course defenders will say I don't understand game development but the way my redneck ass sees it it's either you iron out old features or you add new content and looking at SC, neither is happening. We are still here with all the bugs from the past plus a lot of new ones, still in 1 mostly unfinished star system with a broken starmap, still without server meshing, still unable to enter a bugged train, and of course many many 30k's. Knowing spectrum, people will charge at me with 1000 words essays on why my post is disingenuous and how I'm just a troll, but at the end you can not deny the simple truth - we still have almost nothing from what was promised and what we do have is bare-bones T0 implementation at most, with no end in sight an a ship backlog worth 2 AAA games dev time alone. And don't even get me started on Squadron 42... What am I trying to say? Nothing really, except maybe that I wouldn't believe it if 5 years ago somebody told me that in 2023 I'd still get stuck at Grim Hex Elevator.
