We've spoken with the people in this company for around a decade, its made up of some very intelligent people who understand the necessity of the gameplay loop [Conflict] and how it acts as a driving force for gameplay of all kinds. PvP is fully supported, and enjoyed by CIG. Anyone who says otherwise, is not only not paying attention and ill informed, they aren't listening to what the company says, or does. Take for example the inevitable removal of armistice zones, at present killing folks under these is frowned upon and doing it enough is one of the only real way to get yourself actioned in PvP. Eventually there will be no safe zones of any kind, and enforcement and creation of safer space will be handled by NPC elements in its entirety. We get threatened on a regular basis by all kinds for example our pvp event in '18 ( https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/outlaw-wargames-september-18-edition/1420857 ) where the uninformed told us that running a pvp event was grounds for banning, but it has not done a thing to dissuade us from our agenda, nor has it diminished our enjoyment of PvP or emergent gameplay. In the words of some of the CIG staff, they appreciate a good Villain. For every unhinged denizen out there declaring that we will be banned from the game, or that PvP carries the same moral implications of real world crime, we have other Citizens and Staff cheering us on. They are cheering for you all of you too in the end, regardless of how you wish to play the game. They love this community and support it in innumerable ways going far and above a simple job title. CIG wants a living breathing universe with longevity. They want wars and conflict, resolutions and diplomacy, alliances and betrayals. Whether it is understood by all or not, is immaterial, PvP acts as a driving force of content and space geopolitics, with thousands of groups in this community already drawing ideological lines in the sand, plotting and scheming to out do or destroy one another. Many of you have even hired us to do it. To be blunt, war is an ongoing (and profitable) motif of the Star Citizen community, and has been with us since the early days and our dissolution of Blue Horizons (A name virtually no one remembers) at the behest of one of their rivals. You folks have been at war with one another since the day the forums first came online and the community first began forming factions. Many of the spectrum regulars from the anti pvp crowd simply aren't plugged in deep enough into the community to be either aware of this, or to have been around long enough to have seen/participated. So don't be shy about going out and engaging anyone if you are of mind to. It's part of the game, regardless of detractors who prefer to pretend otherwise. Life is short, start a War.
