[EDIT: This post was made when I was super salty at getting ganked. I admit it. The core idea is that going after newbie players consistently when they can't fight back and there's little way to discover that it is happening can be taken really really poorly as a new player. Since then, I've met some dang cool PvP players, and the world of PvX has opened up to me. I still suck at PvP, but this is the first and only post I've made where I equated what is actually just PvP with griefing in the title, so apologies to those players.] Let me start by saying that I think PvP is great fun. I like PvP, I want to get into PvP. There is a large difference in playing PvP vs simply [EDIT: continually] Griefing players unskilled in PvP! Look, we get it. Kills sound great, you can brag about bagging that newb that couldn't even fire back. Get your pad kill count padded. Show off your great skills by shooting ducks in a barrel. It isn't hard. Some people don't know the difference between Lock/ Target/ Auto. Some people haven't invested in getting PvP optimized super ships with their money. Heck, some of us out there can't land without 4 passes and 20 minutes of fine tuning our position. Not all of us know how to scan down ships. We don't know what constitutes a target vs someone who may be chill to break down some rocks with. What we do know is that you go to PO to PvP. So lay off the rest of us trying to test out missions in PvE trying to figure out how to hit all the buttons just to explore a dark and dangerous wreckage, unlit maze-like cave, or trying to figure out how to deliver something with no map. It isn't fun for us, and our level of challenge is basically bragging to your buddies that you totally ambushed and broke that rock over there. We're about as dangerous. If you want pure PvP? SC has that. Its called "Arena Commander" and "Star Marine" - go knock yourselves out playing with skilled players and really push those skills. Now excuse me while I have to wait 20m for an insurance claim and go rebuy all my kit for the 10th time this week just trying to test out these "new" missions that are supposed to be getting tested this patch.
