From my point of view, the new Pyro star system and the planned mission system make no sense. To emphasize this, I will list the two points that bother me the most about Pyro. 1. Life on Planets Almost every planet in Pyro has plants, animals or liquid water. Pyro 1 has plants, although the surface heats up to over 200°C Pyro 2 (Monox) supports life as well although it says on Galactapedia: Nicknamed "Monox" for the deadly carbon monoxide in its atmosphere If you do a little research, you know that even small amounts of carbon monoxide in the atmosphere can be deadly. Nevertheless, you can walk around the planet without a helmet without any problems. My solution: Let the player's health decrease over time if he doesn't wear a helmet, so he would die in the long run. Pyro IV and Pyro VI also have lakes and seas of water, although the two planets are so far away from the sun that the temperatures should not allow this. If it has to be water and not some other chemical, then please make it like on Microtech, so that the lakes and seas are frozen. Or let it be another liquid chemical that can also damage the player should they go in. I have the feeling that CIG thinks planets are only interesting if there is flora, fauna or water. But from my point of view, you can also make planets interesting without the three mentioned. It depends more on the missions, points of interest and story than on flora, fauna or water. 2. Risk vs Reward I'm quoting a comment from another post here because I think it summarizes the problem well What about resources? Are there better resources in Pyro to force "life skill" players into places with a glut of pirates or are CIG doing the smart thing and forcing pirates into Stanton so that those players are forced to deal with consequences that matter? I just don't see any risk for pirates forcing the players in ships not designed for combat to go to Pyro. The smart thing would be making the best mining and salvage PAYOUTS be in Pyro, but all the best mining and salvage JOBS and MISSIONS be in Stanton. That way, a miner or salvager who wants to be relatively risk averse could do their work in Stanton and sell in Stanton for substantially less than if they sold it on the black market in Pyro. That offers optional risk/reward to miners and salvagers. Want that big pay day? You have to go to Pyro. Do you just like mining and salvaging game play and don't really care about making a lot of fake video game money? Work and sell in Stanton for less risk and less reward. My fear is that CIG actively want to cater to criminal gameplay and they'll force people who don't fly ships designed for combat into Pyro. Instead of forcing the wolves to figure out how to get into the sheep pen, they're herding the sheep into the wolves' hunting area. That seems counter-intuitive with what CIG have said about risk for criminal professions. Summary It just doesn't make sense that Pyro has two naturally habitable planets and tons of valuable resources. According to the new lore, the UEE would never have given up a system like Pyro because it would be far too valuable in terms of resources and due to its strategic position. Pyro should be what it was according to the old lore. A dead system that would be of absolutely no interest to law-abiding players. Pyro should merely be a retreat for pirates and other outlaws to escape the jurisdiction of the UEE. The only lucrative thing in pyro should be the black market. Get the pirates to invade Stanton for loot instead of taking the loot to the pirates! Instead of forcing the wolves to figure out how to get into the sheep pen, they're herding the sheep into the wolves' hunting area
