I know we are on the verge of fixes that will make a lot of the following moot, but I’ve waited to say my piece until I had a full picture—not just of the bugs, but of the intent behind this event. Now that we’re deep into it, I want to speak plainly, not just for myself, but for the countless voices across Spectrum and Reddit who’ve said the same thing in different ways: This event is broken—and not just technically. Conceptually, it misses everything that makes Star Citizen worth playing. ________________________________________ :gear: Broken Systems Everywhere Let’s start with the obvious: freight elevators that don’t work. This isn’t a new issue. These bugs have existed since the day elevators were introduced. And yet, here we are—forced to rely on them for a time-limited event. You knew they were broken. You launched the event anyway. Why? • Elevators freezing • Boxes not spawning or disappearing • Mission progress not registering • Boxes you can find become impossible to move due to tractor beam restrictions • Endless queues or bugs preventing mission access entirely And when players do get a working contract? They're expected to move over 2,800 individual 4 SCU boxes by hand to reach Tier 5 with just one faction. Multiply that by four, and you’ve got players hand-hauling over 11,000 boxes. How was this ever greenlit? ________________________________________ :dart: False Promises of Freedom We were told to "play the event your way." But in reality, there’s only one viable mission showing up. Combat missions reward a single 1 SCU box—why? Salvage missions, derelict finds, bounty targets… all stripped of relevance. Why? Where are the random discoveries? The hidden cargo stashes in caves tucked away by the 9Tails or other factions, derelict Caterpillars and C2s full of resources left and forgotten in space, you know... jackpots for curious explorers that create excitement and a story. Instead of spreading the event across the universe, everything was funneled into one or two buggy loops. So much potential and yet... This isn’t a “race for resources.” It’s a treadmill. ________________________________________ :money_with_wings: Marketing Has Replaced Meaning Chris Roberts was right to reject traditional investors. But in their place, marketing has taken the wheel—and it shows: • Patches feel like retention campaigns, not gameplay expansions. • Ship sales roll out flawlessly, even when the game is on fire. • Store logic drives gameplay logic. Mechanics follow monetization. Want proof? Look at the store—it evolves faster than the game itself. ________________________________________ :loudspeaker: And Worst of All… Silence Outside of a single dev post two days ago, there’s been no meaningful communication. No roadmap update. No detailed fix list. Just… silence. Star Citizen has always been a buggy game. That’s not what’s breaking the community. It’s the lack of respect for our time. ________________________________________ :bulb: You Had Opportunities You could’ve: • Let combat and salvage missions reward real amounts of SCU • Planted rare loot in caves, derelicts, or outposts to encourage exploration • Allowed for scaling box sizes (8, 16, 32 SCU) • Rewarded teamwork instead of penalizing it • Used distribution centers with instead of tiny outposts • Instead of guns as rewards how about ATLS or Max lift skins • Created a living universe where stories are born—not just boxes moved Instead, we got a test of patience disguised as an event. ________________________________________  We Love This Game—That’s Why We’re Angry We want Star Citizen to succeed. That’s why we’re still here. Still testing. Still hoping. But at some point, you need to stop telling us this is all “alpha.” We’ve given you more time, more money, and more grace than any game studio in history. What we’re asking for now is simple: • Fix what’s broken before layering new systems on top of them • Design events that embrace Star Citizen’s strength: freedom, exploration, teamwork • Talk to us. Not in a pre-recorded “Inside SC” video. Here. On Spectrum. In real-time. Show us you still care. ________________________________________ This isn’t a rage post. It’s a warning. Not because we’re leaving. But because we don’t want to. — A player who still believes Star Citizen can be the game we were promised
