This ATV @ 6:36 was the worst indicator as of yet that the flight gameplay is headed straight into arcade flight and any semblance or hope of newtonian/sim type flight is being removed. So I must ask now: 1- Will this game deliver the kickstarter advertised flight mechanics? "You wanted proper Newtonian mechanics. You got it! Spaceships adjust their trajectory and orientation just like the real thing." Because right now, having to use afterburner to exceed an extremely low velocity that is SCM is not 'proper newtonian mechanics'. Its irrelevant if its the IFCS forcing the flight model to do it.. the end result is NOT the spaceship adjusting its trajectory and orientation like the real thing. The end result is the player not even seeing or experiencing proper newtonian mechanics. Because right now, there is no newtonian flight mode that allows a player to thrust in one direction and keep thrusting until the max speed is reached... that means past scm.... without needing to use afterburner. Sure, it will take longer but the player should be allowed to do this. 2- Will there be a newtonian-focused flight mode? Arcade/airplanes-in-space players can have coupled mode and all its IFCS nonsense... where is the BDSSE? Where is the flight mode for those who actually want to FLY their spaceship not just point and click? I backed the advertised newtonian flight mechanics and BDSSE. I did not back an arcade space shooter.
