https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/atls-is-a-new-tool-not-a-cashgrab You guys made a mistake in selling a standard game development iteration in the form of the tractor beam ATLS suit. It's disheartening that the linked thread above became the #4th highest upvoted Spectrum thread and there was NO response from CIG to address obviously widespread concerns. I'm extremely disappointed. I have believed in CR, CIG, and the entire development team, to the point of being laughed at by SC's own community for being excited or having any faith at all this year during the progressing patches that have been mostly "worse before they get better" in the words of Richard Tyrer from the start of this year. When the ATLS was in testing, I was hopeful that this would be an iterative game design exploration and that it wouldn't be sold or used as a cash grab. Even the developers of it seemingly thought so, but the company apparently had other ideas. I wrote the above thread because I truly believed that CIG would actually admit their mistake and address the issue. Again, I was laughed at by this community for believing I'd get a response and having faith in CIG to do the right thing in adjusting something that was obviously a P2W sale. And before we argue as to whether the ATLS is P2W, it is quite literally x times faster to load any ship with this ATLS' newly designed tractor beam gameplay iteration, over the current click, scroll, move around, scroll, click tractor beam gameplay implementation. An example I use to explain how the ATLS is a P2W sale is that this would be as if CIG sold the medical gun and told other backers who didn't buy it to just use individual medpens that have different drugs in order to continue to play the game and heal oneself. It's obvious that the devs didn't create this ATLS situation, it seems like either it was marketing or miscommunication. So @croberts68 , I'm respectfully asking you to respond if no one on your team will. Where did this ATLS situation go wrong in making a gameplay iteration a P2W sold item on the store? Was it marketing, development, or some form of non-communication between the two? What will be done in the future to make sure that CIG isn't selling gameplay iterations? With so much to be looking forward to: SSM tests, 3.24.2 evo, and everything SQ42 and SC related at CitCon... it would be nice for this whole thing to not be a kick in the mouth for backers that didn't think that P2W mechanics would be implemented in this dream of a space sandbox MMO game that we've been supporting this whole time. I get being laughed at from the outside for believing in CIG and SC/SQ42, but I draw the line at being laughed at by our own community for having the baseline expectation that this transparent game development company would respond to its backers when things seem like they're not going right. Please and thanks, hope to get a response soon. EDIT: Thank you CIG for adding the ATLS to in-game shops within a month's turnaround. Really appreciate you guys listening to the community on this.
