I was glad to see in another thread that people seem to be as passionate about this issue as I am, so I figure it warranted its own discussion. I don't really watch lore stuff, but this discussion within a Live Q&A from the lore team is deeply disturbing and has huge implications that will shape the future of the game. They need to hear feedback about this. In it we are essentially told locking people out of content and locations based on their reputation is a bad thing and "too complicated" and the idea of having to repair your reputation is "not something they are gearing for". Reputation shouldn't just lock people out of a landing zones. It should lock people out of entire planetary and star systems. That's the entire concept of security and location based risk, and that's what they have been pitching for years as a way to mitigate PvP for players that aren't interested in it. Want to be safer? Play in safer more policed areas. A criminal coming into Terra should be absolutely hounded. Stop and scans, security patrols, turrets in stations. The works. Being a criminal was said to be hard mode. This new direction is the antithesis of that. And for the criminals the same should be true on the other side. I as a lawful player shouldn't be able to step foot in criminal hideouts, outposts, stations etc without being accosted. This needs to be talked about now before they go further down this path. What you do, the decisions you make and where you do it was supposed to matter. One or two actions shouldn't ruin your character or cause you to have to spend hours to rebuilt lost rep. But there is a middle ground, let's find it.
