@discolando @Zyloh-CIG Dear Disco and Zyloh, I hope you don't mind the ping but I was hoping you guys could help clear up something that is hotly debated in the community at the moment. Over the past several Progress-Tracker updates, work on Persistent Streaming and Server Meshing was extended from around June/July up to the end of December. The Progress-Tracker entry does not differentiate between work on tasks up to the point that static server meshing is complete and work beyond that to improve performance and adapt the technology into dynamic server meshing. In the server-meshing Q&A recently, you said you were aiming for a live release of static meshing for Q3/Q4 this year "barring unforeseen technical hurdles" or words to that effect. There must be significant challenges yet to overcome with server meshing that make it hard to pinpoint when it will see a live release but it must be possible to clear up the following question: has known work to deliver static meshing been extended to the point you can now say with reasonable certainty that static meshing will not make it into a live build this year? Beyond that, it would be good to understand the current position of server meshing with as much nuance as you can provide. I think most of the community understands a lot of eagerly-awaited content is locked behind progress with this technology so it seems to be the number one thing we are looking for regular updates on. The stated reasoning behind recent changes to the roadmap was to enable backers to better manage expectations and, for the same reason, it would be good to know if the Q3/Q4 target remains a possibility. Separating out work to deliver static meshing v1 would also be a great improvement to make the Progress Tracker meaningful. I'm sure you guys want to avoid the kinds of misplaced expectations that lead to widespread disappointment so thanks for helping us to understand this in advance. Tomato
