Previous Thread: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/reshade-is-fair-and-balanced Ok so Skunkworks recently published a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyiZT63aaEE Putting the recent drama on twitter aside what is this? This is not something you get via ingame settings. The following are more excerpts and I want you to keep in mind: This is Microtech. One of the darkest places there is. You can see 10x better. Even compared to gamma and contrast boosted settings. And then there is this (timestamped): You can literally see people walking around. Even unscoped! One more: How would you spot someone, in the same situation, without reshade? Not to mention literally aiming through trees because you can see the highlighted suit. Or your team mates literally seeing conventional ammunition as tracer shots. Sorry but this is just not fair anymore to anyone who does not use reshade. And there are also no downsides to using this IR vision. If CIG would implement NV and IR vision ingame you would probably have some form of downside to it. Like maybe only being able to equip one helmet attachment. Or it using some kind of limited power supply. This is downside free as well. At this point we should start to consider blacklisting reshade. In the longrun we will have to anyways. Because if CIG brings in native NV and IR vision people might use reshade to get around the downsides the ingame implementation might bring with it. I know that reshade has plenty of actual benefits that are not gameplay destructive. But this is just getting ridiculous. First we had NV (which tbh is the least destructive of them all), then this alpha/thermal mode from my previous thread and now this. I don't mean this thread to attack anyone in any way. But this is just too good of an example on why reshade is starting to become a unfair game mod instead of an accessibility and screenshot tool.
