CIG, I don't think I need to be explained how software development works. I don't need to hear about "fluidity" of development, shifting priorities, and other stuff. As a matter of fact, I work in software development, I know firsthand how it works inside out. I've seen teams to admire, I've seen teams to forget. But what I've also seen is a thing called "deadline". Don't get me wrong, I do understand that it's hard to plan 3-4 quarters ahead and deliver precisely what was promised a year ago. And I can support the removal of release projections that you are not sure of. As a matter of fact, I do believe that the community wouldn't rant about release view roadmap removal if you, CIG, as a development company was able to deliver. But you don't: Salvage is delayed for years Pyro is delayed for years Nyx is delayed for years Server meshing is delayed for years 130 systems are not delivered for almost 10 years core gameplay mechanics are not working as intended Players lose progress every day due to game-breaking bugs Netcode can't handle more than 50 players and starts throttling when the instance reaches 40 Frame-rate is laughable for the visuals we get NPCs are braindead and T-pose/standstill more than they do something Ship balance is non-existent Weapon/Ship components balance is non-existent Software development is the same regardless of its game-dev, eCommerce, Blockchain, or Mobile app-dev. There is a business goal, there is a projected timeline, and there is a deadline you cannot go beyond. I don't think you guys tolerate any delays or checkout-braking bugs allowed in your Stripe integration for the Pledge store, do you? Or when building a new fancy landing page to sell ships? But for some reason, critical problems are still tolerated in your main product - the Game.
