After a long break I'm here again with all my frustration, anger and I want to say a few things before leave again. In January, Chris Roberts told us 2025 would be the year of “playability.” His promises were big just like before: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/comm-link/transmission/20371-Letter-From-The-Chairman#:~:text=2025%3A%20A%20Focus%20on%20Playability,performance%2C%20stability%2C%20and%20content. “No new features will hold up content delivery or risk destabilizing the Live environment.” “We are laser-focused on performance, stability, and content.” Well guess what? It does feel like a turning point but just in the wrong damn direction. Since 3.23, everything has gone downhill. The patch was unstable, buggy, and introduced major regressions in gameplay. Then came the hotfixes and each one somehow breaking more than it fixed. The result? We’re now in a state where even basic gameplay loops feel fragile, glitchy, and untrustworthy. Performance? Worse. Stability? Nonexistent. Content? Not even close and what we have in our hand is buried under bugs and bandaid patches. Chris Roberts wrote about focus on his letter. Where is that focus now? Because from this side of the screen, it looks like confusion, disarray, and utter lack of internal control over your own systems. You can’t keep pushing hotfixes that do more damage than good and expect us to keep beta testing this chaos while you say, “We’re focused on playability.” You’re not. And where is CIG while all this is happening? Are they speaking to the community? Posting transparent updates? Owning up to the chaos? No real communication. No dev presence. No apologies. No acknowledgment of the mess. We’re left to scream into the void while the same PR lines are copy-pasted. And that January letter aging worse by the day. Let me be clear: This is not just disappointment for me. This is disrespect to your backers and your customers. If you’re going to charge money, market a “product,” and keep hyping up your dream of Star Citizen, then you better show your backers and player base some respect at least and say something. We’re tired of silence and hotfixes from a team that increasingly looks like they don’t even understand their own codebase anymore. We don't need more events for an excuse to sell new FOMO power creep ships. We don’t need more promises. We don’t need another letter. We need a something that doesn’t feel like it’s collapsing under its own ambition. Because at this rate, Star Citizen isn’t going to be remembered as the most ambitious space game ever made. It’ll be remembered as the most expensive disappointment in gaming history. And if that’s the legacy you want to leave behind, then by all means keep doing nothing. You can be sure that you will not be forgotten for many years.
