Ok, so for once in the last year I was actually enjoying their presentation. The Raven looked like a cool ship and it actually is not only unique in body but it's also got a very unique and niche corner to fill out in game as well in the gameplay and roles department. But then the news broke, Intel Optane exclusive. Look I get Intel partnered with you and whatnot but seriously?!??! You drop hints on this ship for months and you knew people would want it and they would have paid for it. But come to find out this ship, which doesn't offer a equivalent model for RSI store purchase, is only available to be purchased from a third party retailer who is selling these Intel Optane drives. Not only that but these drives are quantity limited. So now you're talking about what is essentially a concept ship that's a) unique and fulfills a role not fulfilled yet (stealth interdiction); b) a ship that is only available through a third party; c) a ship which forces you to buy a product you might not even be able to use or need in order to obtain; d) a ship that even if it gets an equivalent model would most likely be priced higher than it would normally be to encourage you to buy the optane drive. And you know what the worst part is? That people ate it up, both the $385 and the $600 Optane drives are sold out on newegg. This is treading very dangerous water, backers are already pissed off and you're just feeding the fire.... EDIT: Decided to sum up my thoughts in audio/video format for those who can't be asked to read. https://youtu.be/0zUgmigE9iw
