My last 4 Siege of Orison's have been dominated by PvP. I am talking teams over 6 people deep, heavily geared out in meta PvP weapons (e.g. P6 LRs, Karnas, Grenade Launchers). Some notes on this experience: 9-Tails Sympathizers get massive advantages. Because of the way the crime system works, they can take out at least 1-2 people before being flagged as criminals. People shot by PvPs still need to manually file criminal charges through a left bracket acceptance system that is spammed by many other messages. Criminal acts may be lost in spam, may experience a large delay on letting you charge the person (which is essential in making them attackable by everyone else) and sometimes the ability to charge criminal acts don't pop at all. If a criminal charge on a laggy server takes 5-10 minutes to appear, the PvPer can just indiscriminately kill whoever they want in that time period while still having friendly protections. This means that if you shoot back, you also get flagged as a sympathizer, get a CS, and lose the mission. Most PvPers are running without parties and organize in discord. On a 6 man enemy team only 2 may have been flagged as Sympathizers and of course you lose the mission and get CS'ed if you attack their uncharged friends. This always gives a check target advantage to PvPers, which often gets defenders killed. SoO maps are obviously not designed for PvP. They have silly elevator funnel points and single entry ways that are easy to camp with grenade launchers. They have top floor overlooks that let snipers perch and shoot across the entire platform, to which sniper bullets always inflict gameplay hobbling T1 injuries that can't be treated by medics. SoO is an absolute marauder paradise. The systems actively promote trolling. The mission is easy to disrupt and just a handful of people can sabotage the entire thing easily -all while getting intensive protections by systems that were supposed to be there for lawful players who are attempting to complete the mission as intended. What is the point of participating in SoO anymore unless you just want to gank? Edit - I would not even mind the PvP that much if it wasn't for dumb situations like this: I honestly would not mind the PvP, if the PvPers were not protected by BS systems like the ones that I pointed out where you cannot even retaliate against them or members of their crew without getting CS'ed and the mission ruined. Last time I killed 3 of them and of course the last guy was an un-CS'ed allied triangle that double tapped me with a Karna. I had his head right in my sights and couldn't fire because he wasn't flagged as a sympathizer. Then after waking at Orison general, there was not even an option to CS him.
