All the new "graffiti" armor suits look to have been taken straight out of a comic book. All the new "guns & rifles" are a farce. Everything tries to resemble "Mad Max" except that the MadMax vehicles and weapons in that movie still made practical sense. Suit Armor made from plastic jugs, feathers, chicken bones, and duck tape ? How is that going to stop any bullet ? Rifles made from recycled bean cans, rubber bands, and rusty hinges ? How does that contain a gunpowder charge ?!? If you make this game silly, then Star Citizen will be forever known as just another silly game. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Update at 260 upvotes / 15-Oct) Look, I never expected this post to gain so much traction. Just so everyone understands: I'm not against a few silly things as long as they have comedic effect or actually have some sensible lore. Using Shock and Awe is a proven tactic, and freaky attire is a good example of this. Giant Carebear helmets are hilarious for Halloween as long as they aren't capable of tactical combat or vacuum EVA. And silly plastic dart-pistols are actual toys in real life; they're fine as long as they don't fire actual deadly bullets, right ? My reason to post had more to do with my concern about general marketing to prospective new players : if all they see coming from the CIG marketing team is 100% silly things, then the word 'silly' becomes synonymous with the game. That was my only message. I'm expressing my concern, and that should be a valid reason to post on spectrum. I know a lot of you who responded against my concern expressed their own opposition against my viewpoint, and I would upvote your right to speak your mind as long as you don't oppose my right to express mine. I'm all for some silly humor from time to time. But when silliness spills over into the foundation of your business you'll have a big mess to clean up later. Just saying.
