I believe that AI crews, in the distant future, will be one of the most vital pillars of this game. But… since that is still very far away, I’ll talk about why I believe AI Blades are ESSENTIAL in this videogame: • First of all, and most importantly: we are no longer the teenagers who, in many cases, started playing with friends and had the whole day free. Since I started playing SC, I’ve finished my degrees and even gotten married. Because of this, nowadays it’s difficult for me to coordinate schedules, and I enjoy playing solo and making use of my large ships. • On the other hand—also very important—Star Citizen is a game about “experiences.” A large part of its threatening and oppressive space atmosphere comes from playing alone, where every sense is focused on the game and your session. I wish I could fly my Polaris solo, with its full firepower, while venturing into dangerous places. • Solo players make up a large portion of the game’s population, and as such, we deserve to be able to fly whatever ships we want. Want to reduce turret damage by 30% when controlled by AI? I’ll take it. • Gameplay would improve greatly and would encourage many people to purchase large ships that they currently avoid due to heavy crew requirements. This translates into revenue for CIG. • It would revitalize both PvE and PvP. There would always be ships to fight—who knows, maybe a ship piloted by a single player with an AI crew could actually put you in serious trouble. Let’s accept that things change and that we must adapt. Welcome, AI Blades.
