... Is for CIG to actually address with a Yellow post, or a video. Even if it's just to reiterate goals and promises made years ago. That's fine. As long as we're given a clear picture to where the game is going based on RECENT statements. What I believe people need right now is a clear understanding of the vision for the PvE-PvP environment. The fact of the matter is, a lot of folks come stating what they think is "the true vision" of the game (regardless if it's Pro PvP or PvE). Some people will point to last year's CitizenCon, but let's be honest, these panels raised more questions than they delivered answers. We went from a vision of "NPC's will govern 90 percent of the universe and the production of goods" to a model that feels more akin to EvE Online's player-driven economy. Which is not necessarily a bad idea, but a clear contradiction to what many had been told for years. Combine this with the push to free-for-all PvP this year (and the higher server cap that quadrupled the probability of a player vs Player encounters)... And it's not difficult to understand why some people are confused and concerned. The fact of the matter is this... A) The PvE-PvP environment as it exists today feels directionless, structureless, and frustrating for a lot of players. B) No one knows what the hell is going on, and what CIG is going to do to bring that direction and structure. We talk and speculate about a reputation system, NPC doing police ect... But honestly, It doesn't really feel like CIG is doing anything to push the game in this direction (at this time.) This situation reminds me of the "What happened to salvage?" days. (Context: CIG had pushed Salvage around for about 2 years until the feature suddenly disappeared from the roadmap without any explanation. It took years of the spectrum forums constantly making posts about it until CIG finally addressed it and then... Lord and Behold, Spectrum stopped constantly asking about Salvage.) If any of you are frustrated to see all of these posts popping up on Spectrum. I get you, the game has so many issues that need attention. PvE-PvP is not the only thing. But the fact is... CIG could quickly diffuse this by simply doing what an other developer did about their own PVE-PVP situation. They didn't actually solve the issues yet, but they clarified to their community that they acknowledged the issues and shared plans they would like to experiment with to try and solve them. The community then immediately calmed down and let them cook. It's up to CIG to decide whether or not they should make a similar move and address the issue to give the backers "clarity" on their vision of PvE-PvP. But I honestly think they should make that communication. Sooner, rather than later. The longer they say nothing, the more posts about the subject will pop on spectrum. It will not stop.
