In an 8 min jump, CR mentioned that it will be common to be yanked out and have to deal with stuff. They've also said it will take upwards of 40 min to cross a system, so in that 40 min cross, I should expect what, 10 interdictions? Assuming 5-10 min for each one (completely made up numbers), that 40 min time to cross a system is now 2-3 hours? For one system? What if my friends are 3 systems away and I'm just trying to connect with them so we can play together? I don't know about you, but I can't "picture in picture" to play another game, and if I'm playing another game, why am I playing SC at all? Are these PvP or PvE interdictions? Stanton is a UEE system, why am I being yanked out by pirates in a core world system? It should be one of the safest systems in the UEE, given the powerhouse corporations that are here. This year's CitCon was amazing (I was there), but for me it created more questions than answers: How often is interdiction a thing, seriously? Do we have to always travel with a big fleet an escorts, even when going out to get the mail? UEE protection on a claim sounded dodgy, so can we assume that all of our houses are shot down constantly, even in UEE space? Pioneer's a big, slow, expensive target, I assume we have to have a big escort for that too? Why put so much energy into PvE aspects of the game (languages, correct appearance of footing, etc, things most PvP players don't care about) in a game that is looking more and more to be PvP? PvP players don't care what language their targets are speaking, they just like the funny noises they make as they're popped. More and more the game is sounding like "forced multiplay". They've said, in the past, that solo play will be viable, but now it sounds more and more like "viable in a solo ship as long as you don't leave your hangar and try to go anywhere". Encouraging multiplay is great, encouraging it to the point where solo play is non-viable isn't, IMHO. Edit: Sorry for the delays in my responses, hiking around Belgium. After CitCon, I'm spending 2 weeks in Europe, hitting Brussels and Amsterdam, so my responses will be spotty at best :slightly_smiling_face: Edit2: To clarify, this is not me saying "OMFG, this is how CR has said it's going to be, so it's going to suck, I should get a refund and ragequit!" This is me saying "It seems like CR believes that this is how it should be, and I feel the need to explain to him that I disagree, and would like to share this feeling with the community on the off chance others agree." As many here have said, not every QT interruption will be intentional interdiction. Many have said it might be anomalies and such. My point is that I should have a choice as to whether or not I drop out of QT for non-intentional things. I'm in my Hull E, I don't have the sensors, time, or really the interest, to look at a fascinating rock, so I don't want to drop out of QT for it. I should be able to set my sensors to filter those things out, maybe snapshot the location for later analysis, if I wish. When/where/how I drop out of QT should either be intentional by someone else (I'm being interdicted) or intentional by me (I've set filters, one of them is triggered, so I'm dropped out). I should never be dropped out for any other reason, IMHO.
