So... After all the backlash and drama. After all the angst from the community. After two weeks to let you guys come up with a proper response on the status of SQ42. This is what we got so far. Last weeks ISC: A Vanduul spear. This weeks ISC: Episode dedicated to Motion capture for SQ42. Are you guys seeing a trend here? Yes... they are starting to mention more SQ42 stuff. But, none of this gets us any closer to the real answer we asked for: What is the status of SQ42? I'm sorry for bringing this again, but it looks like we are in for an other dance of "What is the status of SQ42?" threads for the next couple of months, so we can get that answer. Look. I have NOTHING against these. The spear looks awesome (props to the artist that designed it). I don't mind having an ISC on Motion capture for SQ42. That's fine, it's cool. But please... PLEASE... for freaking sakes... Let's not do this again CIG. Please! You KNOW what a big chunk of us NEED to know. Can we please, not do this again? Please! Answer the freaking question: What is the status of SQ42? Doesn't have to give us a new Beta quarter estimate. Just tell us that the current BETA Q3 2020 is DELAYED. And explain WHY it was delayed (Is it more work required on the physics grid? AI not being where it should be? We just want to know what's going on.) Please. Let's not start this again. What you're doing here seems so PR and out of touch. As usual. Look, these are great. But instead of enjoying them, these STING. They actually STING! It's just salt on an open wound. It's like dangling the picture of a desert to a starving customer in a restaurant who's been waiting for the main course for the past 6 hours. THESE DON'T HELP! You think they do. But they don't. Not while we're still anxious about the status of the game itself. We can't enjoy this stuff until we know if the game is doing fine or not. Please... until we get the actual answer we asked for. No more tease. No more hype. No more Trailers. No more sneak peaks. LESS SHINY STUFF. More FACTS! Truthful, direct, clear.... FACTS! All this does is reinforce the notion that something is being hidden from us. That's NOT what you want to be doing right now. Again. A simple question demands a short and simple answer! What is the status of SQ42? That's it. That's all we want to know. Good or bad. Doesn't matter. Just... give it to us. PLEASE CIG. I do NOT enjoy making these posts. And I'm sure those who post similar posts would rather not as well. There is nothing enjoyable about making these. I would rather make a post about how QT can be improved. How I'm so hyped about the Cargo decks in 3.11 (I am, I REALLY am). How I love the design of the TALON. I DON'T WANT TO MAKE POSTS ABOUT THIS! I really dont. But you've trained us in making these ALL the time, because if it makes enough waves, you finally react. Please, this is NOT the right way to go about this, you're going back to your old habits already. Trying to distract us so we stop asking the questions you don't want to be asked anymore. Look... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and see if we'll finally get a proper status update on SQ42 in the next two weeks. I still want to believe in you and that you will do right by us and not leave us in the dark for much longer. But judging by what I'm seeing here. This is NOT looking good. Look. I love this game and I still believe in you guys. I don't regret spending all that money to support SQ42 and SC. But I NEED to know that this money is being well spent. Showing a spear and some MO-CAP ain't going to do that. I just want to know what the status of the game is! No fancy trailer is required. No fancy roadmap is required (Looking forward to it, but we shouldn't have to wait for that to see how SQ42 is doing). No special ISC episode is required (I would rather these guys/gals work on the game). Just a few yellow words explaining exactly what is going on. That's it. Nothing more is required. I hope you will prove me wrong. And if you do, I will be the first to make a big beefy post to thank you. EDIT: And if you're going to focus on "shiny" stuff to keep us "satisfied". My personal suggestion: Try not to forget that we've been around for years. We've already seen all of that stuff (Sorry but its true). How about instead.... I don't know... Show your FPS AI in a local environment? You know, since, its supposed to handle much better on a local environment like SQ42? That would really relieve some backers at least. I don't know man, just my two cents. If you're going to go that route, at least show something more... Important.... reassuring? Like AI? In game physics? Hell... even the new HAIR tech would be better.) EDIT 2 (After watching this weeks ISC video): Cool episode I liked it. But I'll stick to my point. Until we get a Status update, It's difficult to enjoy these. Still the episode was more interesting then I thought. Just give us the news we need, and we'll be able to enjoy these as we should.
