I know, I know, another one of these threads.... Let me preface this by saying that I'm happy for those of you who enjoy the direction SC is going. I'm glad you'll get to play a game that you enjoy. That said, I'm more and more disappointed by the design decisions being made by CIG. The game keeps getting more pirate/criminal/shooter focused, and less space sim focused. The latest thing is the introduction of the ship trespassing feature, which is going to encourage ganking and ship stealing on the pad. The solution offered by proponents of all this combat focused gameplay always seems to be that you need to team up and play in a group to be able to play SC, which is a shame. I don't have the time to commit to join an org, and I often want to be able to just play a space sim on my own, even if there are other people in the universe with me. I've been a backer since the end of 2012, and really believed in the original vision of SC. Sadly, the SC that exists today, and the vision the devs seem to have for SC in the future, is not the same game as the one I originally pledged for, and is too much like modern kids shooter games for my taste. If I wanted to play Fortnite, I would be playing Fortnite. Silly hats and constant twitch shooter action isn't really my scene. I'll keep checking in occasionally to see if things are getting better or worse, but for the time being I don't have SC installed, and I doubt I will bother to install it again unless there is a significant shift in gameplay. Once again, if SC is exactly the game you want to play, I'm very happy for you. I'm just sad for me.
